One block behind the luxury shopping streets sits a neo-Renaissance mansion. The Bagatti Valsecchi brothers furnished it in sixteenth-century style in the late 1800s and lived there, and the furniture, weapons and tapestries remain as they arranged them. Dark timber ceilings and thick walls make you lose the century. It is five minutes from the shops and strikingly quiet.
