90 minutes from the red city: Berber villages under snowy peaks

Address
Pinned at Imlil, the trailhead village for Toubkal; the Ourika Valley (Setti Fatma) is a separate valley to the east

An hour and a half from the heat of Marrakech you're in walnut-tree valleys and mud-brick villages under the ridges of Toubkal (4,167 m), North Africa's highest peak. Imlil is the Toubkal trailhead, so the usual day trip is a 2–3 hour valley walk with a guide and a tagine lunch in a Berber home. For waterfalls, head instead to Setti Fatma in the Ourika Valley to the east.
