Banana Reef is one of the best-known dive sites in the Maldives, a reef wall curved like a banana, crusted with coral and schools of fish. It mixes shallow and deep sections, so snorkellers get plenty too, and with luck a turtle will be grazing on coral right in front of your mask. Nearby, 'Manta Point' off Lankanfinolhu is known as a cleaning station where mantas come to have parasites picked off. Being so close to the airport and Malé, it fits into half a day before or after your resort stay.
