A congee-and-noodle shop on a side lane in Patane, a little off the tourist map. Noodles are still bamboo-pressed, and the owner toasts the shrimp roe for the dry noodles himself. Locals outnumber visitors, so the menu is Chinese-only, but there's a picture version. Crab congee, a whole crab simmered into the rice, is what earns the reputation, and it's open till 11 pm for the late-night crowd.
