The Last Bookstore fills an old bank with used books and records between marble columns; upstairs is the arched 'book tunnel' and a vault turned into a tiny reading room, and everyone queues for the photo. A few blocks north, Angels Flight runs two little orange cars up and down a hill: the railway from La La Land, and a ride that lasts about a minute. Opposite the bottom station is Grand Central Market, a food hall going since 1917, and across Broadway the Bradbury Building's wrought-iron stairs and glass roof starred in Blade Runner. All three are within ten minutes' walk, so they make an easy half-day stroll.
