A rebuilt version of the theatre where Shakespeare's plays were staged. The round timber house is open to the sky in the middle, and groundlings stand on bare ground right at the stage, part of the show. Standing tickets start at £5, the cheapest night of theatre in London. On non-show days a guided tour walks you through the stage, galleries and exhibition. The yard stays uncovered in the rain, so people bring ponchos.
