A 1930s plug of concrete wedged into a canyon. Walk along the top and you've got Lake Mead on one side and a sheer drop on the other, with the Nevada–Arizona line painted down the middle and the two clock towers an hour apart for part of the year. A tour from the visitor centre takes you down by elevator to the giant generators. For the whole dam in one frame, climb onto the walkway of the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge nearby.
