The building is the first thing you notice: eight sides and walls that lean outward, modelled on the woven basket Sabahans call a wakid. The 3rd and 4th floors hold paintings and sculpture on Sabah and Borneo themes, from landscapes and village life to wildlife. Light comes down through a translucent roof, and the air-con makes it a good place to wait out a downpour.
