A beef noodle shop in the old harbour quarter of Yancheng. At mealtimes a queue forms outside, with plenty of foreign travellers in it. There is soup noodle, but many come for the dry, tossed noodles. Local food writers single out the pork trotter, sticky and falling off the bone.
