The whole ceiling above the ticket hall is covered in coloured glass, the work of Italian artist Narcissus Quagliata, telling a story of birth to death through water, earth, light and fire. It is underground, yet standing in the middle feels like stepping into a cathedral. At set times a short light-and-music show runs across the glass. The station is named after the 1979 Formosa Incident, a turning point in Taiwan's democracy movement.
