Shaped like the Chinese character 高 ('tall'), this 347m tower has defined Kaohsiung's skyline since 1997. The 74th-floor observatory and the hotel above closed in 2019–2020; as of a September 2026 report, floors 37–85 are being refitted as a Le Méridien hotel, targeting a late-2026 opening. There is no announcement yet on whether the observation deck will return. For now, treat it as a skyline landmark to see from the Love River mouth or across from Cijin.
