Lava hit the sea, cooled fast and cracked into columns packed together like a bundle of pencils. From the viewing deck you can see the hexagonal and pentagonal tops clearly, with waves smashing white between them; the rougher the sea, the better the spray. A loop of the deck doesn't take long, so it slots easily between Jungmun's beaches and hotels.
