Walk a few steps up the tram line from Hagia Sophia and the big '1920' sign is hard to miss. The star is köfte: beef with only bread, onion and salt, no spices, by the house's own account. Around it sit lamb şiş, lentil soup, white bean salad (piyaz) and semolina helva, and that is about it. The walls are papered with photos and letters from famous diners. The 2026 menu listed a 170 g portion of köfte at 620 lira.
