Off the train, the village stretches along the floor of a valley walled by sheer cliffs, and Staubbach Falls drops from the top. Over 297 metres the water shreds in the wind until the bottom is mostly mist. The spot at the village entrance where the church spire, timber chalets and falls line up is the classic photo, and someone always has a tripod out. Walk to the foot and the spray hits your face.
