An old cogwheel train with wooden seats grinds up through forest and meadow for 50 minutes. At the top an alpine botanical garden sits in front of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau lined up. It is cheaper and calmer than Jungfraujoch, a good half-day on a clear day, with hiking trails from short loops to a long walk toward Grindelwald.
