It's only 20 minutes from Waikiki, but step out of the car and the air turns thick and damp. A gentle dirt path of about 2.6 km return winds under giant banyans and through bamboo tunnels to a thin waterfall dropping roughly 45 m down a cliff. It's barely uphill, but after rain it turns to mud and the mosquitoes are relentless, so long sleeves help. The pool at the base is fenced off and the water isn't clean — don't swim in it or drink it.
