It started in the 1940s as a Japanese family's grocery, with the shave ice window added in the 1970s and the current family running it since 1980. The syrups are cooked in-house and the menu is long. The ice comes out snow-fine, in a big bowl. At a few dollars each, it works for a group sitting on the curb with one cup apiece.
