A cha chaan teng opened in 1950, with its mosaic-tile floor, green metal window frames and old fans largely intact. It's been used often as a film location, and from the upstairs windows you look down on the Tin Hau Temple square. The standard order is Hong Kong French toast with butter and syrup, plus milk tea. You come more for the room than the food.
