Nipa palms grow thick in the brackish water near the Thu Bon's mouth, and you tour the channels in a round woven-bamboo basket boat. The rower slips you through tunnels of fronds, then out in open water spins the boat like a top, and that's when everyone screams. It has been on so many TV shows and YouTube channels that some rowers blast pop music and dance for their passengers. Some operators also fold palm-leaf rings and grasshoppers or let you try crab fishing.
