Vinh Nghiem Pagoda

Chùa Vĩnh Nghiêm

Large Japanese-influenced pagoda with a tall tower

Hours
Roughly from 6am into the evening
Tickets
Free
Address
339 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street

One of the larger Buddhist temples in the city, with a seven-storey stone tower rising in the courtyard. Parts of the architecture draw on Japanese timber style, so it does not look like the Vietnamese temples you may expect. It feels more like a neighbourhood temple than a sight: a few worshippers lighting incense on weekdays, and a crowd on festival days and full-moon days. Entry is free.
