A few flights of steps from the jetty lead to a surprisingly small opening, then a run of high, smooth-walled chambers. Columns and stalactites stand in rows like pillars, hence the name 'Heavenly Palace'. Guides point out an elephant, a turtle, a phoenix in the rock, and spotting them is half the fun. Dau Go Cave is right next door, so Route 1 covers both. It's shorter and simpler than Sung Sot, which suits a tight schedule.
