Legend says Richard the Lionheart, shipwrecked off Lokrum, paid for the first church here as thanks for surviving. Today's Baroque building went up after the 1667 earthquake, so inside it's white and bright, with a Titian-workshop Assumption polyptych over the high altar. The real draw is the small Treasury next door, its walls packed with gold and silver reliquaries; the ones holding the head and arms of St Blaise, the city's patron, are carried through the streets every February on his feast day.
