5 minutes east of Ploče Gate, just past the old Lazareti quarantine buildings

Float on your back and turn your head: the Old Town walls and the old harbour are right there, Lokrum straight ahead. The beach is fine pebble, kinder on the feet than rock, and the water is clear enough to see the stones several metres down. One side is a beach club renting loungers and umbrellas; the rest is free, towel-on-the-pebbles territory. At night the club turns into a bar and dance floor. It's five minutes from the Old Town, so it's the obvious plunge after a sweaty walls loop.
