At the end of a white-sand beach, the Burj Al Arab rises from its own island like a sail filled with wind. Inside is for guests and diners only, but this public beach lets anyone line it up for free. In the afternoon the sun drops behind the hotel and the silhouette sharpens, and the water is shallow and calm enough for paddling. A walkway connects on towards Souk Madinat Jumeirah.
