The museum holds sandstone sculpture from the Champa kingdom that once ruled central Vietnam, and its main building is still the yellow one the École française d'Extrême-Orient put up in 1915. Shiva, Ganesh, garudas and dancing apsaras brought from My Son and other sites are grouped by where they were found. Seeing grey and rust-coloured stone up close in the window light is the pleasure here. It's compact enough for an hour, and makes My Son far easier to read if you go first.
