Near the mouth of the Thu Bon river, a wide forest of nipa palms grows in the brackish water, and you tour its channels in a round bamboo basket boat. The rower slips in between the palms, then out in open water spins the boat like a top. It has featured in so many TV shows and online videos that some rowers blast pop music and dance for their passengers. Some operators also fold palm-leaf rings and grasshoppers or let you try crab fishing.
