Step under the green neon sign and you're in a dim, Prohibition-era bar. It's famous as an Al Capone hangout, and since owner Dave Jemilo reopened it on 19 June 1986 there has been live jazz every night, with the 40th anniversary landing in 2026. Most nights the main set runs 8pm to midnight, Fridays and Saturdays add a late jam from 1am, and Sunday afternoons host the Uptown Poetry Slam, which started here. The room takes the music seriously: talk through a set and you'll get shushed.
