Ride the Donghae Line about 20 minutes north of Haeundae and you reach this small crescent of sand. With no tower blocks around it, just low village roofs, red and white breakwater lighthouses and calm water, it feels more like a country beach. The water is shallow and gentle, good for kids, and the front is lined with sea-view cafés and noodle and eel restaurants. It sits on the same line as Haedong Yonggungsa and the Osiria malls, so a Gijang day out comes together easily.
