At the end of its square a single dome watches over the city. At 96 metres it is exactly as tall as the Parliament, and a rule against building higher kept the skyline low and even. Inside it's all marble and gilt, and a side chapel holds the mummified right hand of St Stephen, Hungary's first king, in a glass reliquary. The lookout that rings the outside of the dome gives a full 360 degrees over the rooftops to the castle, the river and Gellért Hill.
