Stasimuseum (Haus 1)
The secret-police boss’s office, left as it was
- Hours
- Mon–Fri 10:00–18:00, Sat, Sun and holidays 11:00–18:00
- Tickets
- Adults €12, reduced €9
- Address
- Ruschestraße 103, House 1, the former East German State Security headquarters
The headquarters of East Germany’s Ministry for State Security, the Stasi, now houses the museum. On the upper floor sits Erich Mielke’s office and secretary’s room, kept with the original furniture. Exhibits run through hidden bugs, disguised cameras and files kept on ordinary citizens. Texts lean German, so time your visit to an English tour if one is running. The mood is heavy, so plan something lighter afterward.
