A Taoist temple with halls for underworld offices

Courtyard after courtyard of small halls, each housing a god who runs one department of the underworld, one for lifespans, another for wealth. Reading the signboards is half the fun. The complex also houses the Beijing Folk Customs Museum, so Taoist culture and folk traditions sit side by side. For its size it is quiet and a little eerie. Festivals such as the Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn bring events and longer hours.
