Stepping stones zigzag across the middle of the pond, and koi swarm under your feet as you cross. Tiered fountain towers, stone statues and lotus beds are what is left of a royal retreat. A pool at the back costs extra to swim in, and rice terraces run off behind it. Come early and the stepping stones are nearly empty.
