Walk a short slope down from the cafés of Parnell Village and the park opens in terraces of roses, with the Waitematā Harbour behind. Its proper name is Dove-Myer Robinson Park. In bloom season every bench holds either a photographer or a family unpacking lunch. It is free and open round the clock, so it slots easily into a Parnell wander.
