A 25-room boutique hotel on the corner of High and Shortland streets. The site held a hotel from 1841, and two fires and rebuilds produced the current building. Art deco architecture meets mid-century furniture and New Zealand art. There is a Twenties-style cocktail bar, Housebar, a glass-roofed atrium restaurant and weekend high tea.
