Every seat and the track's edge are white marble, almost glaring on a sunny day. It was rebuilt on the ancient stadium's site for the first modern Olympics in 1896, and the Olympic flame is still handed over here when it leaves Greece. You get an audio guide at the gate; afterwards plenty of people jog a lap of the track or climb the winners' podium for a photo. From the top row you can see both the Acropolis and Lycabettus.
