A neoclassical hall in a garden for evening strolls

- Gardens free; event entry varies
- Address
- Between the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Panathenaic Stadium, at the south end of the National Garden
Walk south through the National Garden and a white building with a round colonnaded courtyard appears. Zappeion opened in 1888 and is tied to the revival of the modern Olympic idea; today it hosts conferences and exhibitions. The long garden in front has benches and a cafe, and around sunset locals drift through with their dogs. The interior is often open only for events, so the facade and the grounds are the real draw.
