A red-brick 19th-century building with a tower, right behind Museumplein. It used to be a music conservatory; a glass roof now covers the old courtyard, which works as lobby and lounge. It switched to the Mandarin Oriental name in 2025, following the group's December 2024 announcement. You can practically roll out of bed into the Van Gogh Museum's first time slot; no five-star sits closer to the museums.
