Two palaces, Upper and Lower, sit at either end of a terraced garden, and today the whole complex is Austria's national gallery. The queue is for Klimt's The Kiss on the Upper Belvedere's first floor. With its gold leaf the canvas shimmers far more in person than in any print. The same floor holds more Klimt and a run of Egon Schiele. Afterwards, walk down the garden terraces and turn around for the palace façade.
