A Shinjuku tempura house open since 1924. Sit at the main-shop counter and the pieces land in front of you one at a time. The basic set puts two prawns, a fish, seasonal vegetables and a kakiage fritter on one tray with rice, pickles and miso soup. Lunch is the easy price point, dinner climbs into courses. An annex sits close by, so look for the main-shop sign.
