Follow the smell of sesame oil down a Nihonbashi back lane and you hit the end of the line. The signature Edomae tendon stacks a whole conger eel, prawn, a squid kakiage and a soft-boiled egg in batter so high that you park pieces on the lid as you eat. A sweet soy sauce coats the tempura and soaks into the rice. Only 20 seats, so it turns over fast, but the line never really goes away.
