Designed by Toyo Ito and opened in 2016, this opera house swaps straight walls for curved, perforated ones that flow into each other like a cut sponge, so the lobby feels like walking through a cave. You don't need a ticket to wander the lobby, the shop and the rooftop garden. After dark every opening on the facade glows and people settle on the lawn out front to watch.
