Connected shophouses on Pagoda Street

Inside narrow shophouses stand recreated 1950s rooms where several families squeezed in behind partitions. Sewing machines, bunks and kitchen tools carry the immigrants' stories, and walking room to room shows how these lanes began. Streets you only walked past look different afterwards. It is also air-conditioned, a fair excuse to stop out of the heat.
