This used to be a district of shoemakers and small factories, and the red-brick warehouses are still standing, now filled with cafés and concept stores. Walk down Yeonmujang-gil and you'll pass several queues outside beauty and fashion pop-ups whose signs change nearly every week. Shoe-repair shops and metalworks still hang on between them, so drinking a latte to the sound of a grinder is very Seongsu. Seoul Forest park is 15 minutes away on foot.
