Opened in 1964 and now past 1,900 rooms, it's one of the largest hotels on the West Coast. Union Square and the Powell cable car turnaround are five minutes away, and so many Yosemite day and overnight tours leave from nearby that it's known as the Yosemite pickup hotel. What reviewers keep praising most is that it skips the destination fee other big hotels charge. Ownership changed in November 2025, but it still flies the Hilton flag.
