Hill to Harbour

Downtown Reykjavík is a 30-minute walk end to end. Start above the coloured roofs from the church tower, drop through Rainbow Street and the pond, and finish out on the water looking for whales.

Harbour Day, Golden Circle Day

Base yourself just off Laugavegur: day one is the Grandi harbour district, Perlan and a geothermal soak at the water's edge; day two is the Golden Circle by bus and an evening flight home.

Lava Lagoon & South Coast

Stop at the Blue Lagoon straight from the airport, then settle into a hotel on the main square. Day two is waterfalls and black sand on the South Coast; day three is a local's day of pools and museums.
