Hàm Ninh, on the east coast, is the island's crab village. Raft restaurants float at the end of a long wooden pier, and Bè Hà Quyền is one of them. Crab, prawns and squid come straight out of the nets under the raft, get weighed, then steamed or grilled. Locals steam the crab and dip it in green-chilli salt; the herring salad sells well too. It faces east, so no sunset, but the daytime water is calm.
