The pink dome you spot first along the Promenade des Anglais is this hotel. It opened in the early 1910s (1912 by most accounts), and a doorman in a plumed hat still stands outside the white Belle Époque facade. Paintings and sculptures line the lobby and corridors, so guests often say they slept in a museum. There are about 128 rooms, and the beach is just across the road.
