It opened while Chagall was still alive, built to hold his great cycle of paintings on the Old Testament, the 'Biblical Message'. Walk into the main white room and huge canvases wash over you in blues and reds, goats, angels and lovers floating free of gravity. In the small concert hall, three blue stained-glass windows he designed turn the whole room blue when the afternoon sun comes through. There's a café in the Mediterranean garden for a break afterwards.
