Bánh căn is rice batter poured into little clay moulds, topped with egg, prawn or squid, lidded and baked into small round cakes, crisp outside and soft inside. You dunk them in fish sauce or fermented-anchovy dip and eat them with shredded green mango. This is a long-running shop known for generous toppings, and it only opens in the evening.
