Take the lift from the prefectural office lobby to the rooftop square. The five-story pagoda of Kofuku-ji stands right ahead, with the forest of Nara Park and the Wakakusa ridge beyond. At dusk the sky colours behind the pagoda silhouette. Most visitors walk past without knowing it exists, so finding a spot is easy.
